New Hire and London Office for dataSpring
Online market research firm dataSpring has hired Arjen van Duijvenbode as Director of Business Development EMEA. He will establish an EMEA business and open a new office in London. Arjen has over 12 years of experience in market research, having previously opened offices for Lightspeed GMI and Cint in the Benelux region, as well as working as a director for B2B specialist exëvo. He started his MR career at Bloomerce Access Panels which was sold by Kees de Jong to SSI in 2006.
New Company Launched: Nowigence
MRA member Anoop Bhatia announced the launch of a new marketing intelligence company, Nowigence Inc.. Anoop will be President and CEO. Nowigence will aim “to deliver businesses with actionable market insights, in real-time and on a daily basis by relaying personalized and tailored information sifted from millions of licensed and published news and social media items.” According to Anoop, the company’s service “is designed to quickly tailor to the unique needs and markets of our clients and will evolve with them as their business grows and changes.”
Market Research Council Adds New President
The Market Research Council (MRC) announced the appointment of a new president, Bruce Friend. Bruce is currently president of the Media & Entertainment Practice at MARU/VCR&C, where he will continue his current role. Bruce replaces MRC President Leslie Wood, the chief research officer of Nielsen Catalina Solutions. A 25-year industry veteran, he has held senior research positions at some of the top global media and entertainment companies, including Sony Pictures Entertainment, MTV, Nickelodeon, HBO, The Disney Channel, Telemundo Group Inc., Saatchi & Saatchi, Y&R Advertising and OTX/Ipsos.
MARU/VCR&C Adds New Senior VP
Marketing research technology and insight community provider MARU/VCR&C announced the hiring of Dean Devlin as senior vice president of sales, to be based in Toronto, Canada. He joins the company from Marketwired, where he served as vice president, global sales operations and business insights. Prior to that, he was group director, professional services, at The Nielson Company. Devlin holds a BA degree from York University in Canada.
